Why Weinstein’s Sentence Matters

I had a chance to give my legal analysis on the Weinstein sentencing for Spectrum News this morning. My legal takeaway is in the YouTube link below.

My personal takeaway is one of relief. I’ve been covering these really tragic, disturbing, criminal cases while at the Law & Crime Network, and almost all the victims have been women. Most often the attacker was someone she knew. There is something so wrong with the way we as a whole seem to just accept this as normal. Today’s sentence was the opposite of acceptance and I just felt, as a woman, relief, that someone had our back.
