Why Your Relationship Today Is Less Likely To Work

Just a few days shy of what is subjectively the most romantic holiday of the year, Quartz.com published an article that stated nearly 39% of heterosexual couples in 2017 had met online and the same applied to more than 60% of same-sex couples. The research went even further to state that meeting through friends had seen a decline to roughly 20% from almost a third. Online dating makes sense and that’s why so many of us do it — myself included. In fact, I met the person I am currently with on the dating app Hinge.

Finding a potential match through dating apps seems to be the only way that offers millennials this opportunity at their fingertips, at all hours of the day, 7 days a week. Dating apps/websites essentially take the necessity to leave the house in order to meet someone, off of the table of excuses for why you (once again) don’t have a date to Thanksgiving Dinner. In a world where many of us have second jobs, employment while in school, kids,or other responsibilities that limit our free time, gravitating towards an option that doesn’t challenge any of our existing obligations can seem like a no-brainer, but we could be wasting more…
