Writing is the Wise Friend & Getaway Trip We Should All Take
The moment I begin to put my words down, I find the peace of mind and the great escape to the bliss I seek.
Henry David Thoreau said “the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city, you go into the desperate country, and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats.”
Writing is my way of breaking out of the mould.
Writing is my way of living.
I started writing with a Judy Moody Journal and I wanted to write because I’m a person with a lot of thoughts and feelings.
There is always an idea or an inner dialogue and so I needed a place to express myself.
To console myself.
I started journaling as a child and later moved on to other platforms and writing has changed my life in many ways.
If you haven’t yet begun to write, here are some reasons why you should.
Writing Is a Way to Reflect and Heal
Writing is a way to reflect and reflecting has helped me to understand my thoughts and emotions through different stages of my growth from childhood to adolescence and adulthood.
As I reflect, I learn more about myself, who I was and who I’m becoming.
As I reflect, I get to understand more about my patterns of emotions and ways of being.
What I need to do to change. How I can better myself.
Writing and reflecting is a way to heal.
Writing Is a Way to Connect
Writing is a way to connect as I started with journalling privately to publishing my writing online publicly.
I wanted to be public because I want to connect with other like-minded people. Those who share the same thoughts, feelings, and experiences because not many people are willing to openly share their truth.
Writing was a place for me to share and connect and writing can be a great way for you to connect too.
Writing is a Place to Get Away
Writing is a place to get away because when you allow yourself to write, you can take yourself anywhere.
You can venture off to another town and time when you write.
To enjoy the vacation of writing, you must not censor yourself.
Allow your mind to wander and roam freely anywhere you want to go.
Writing is a Way to God
Writing is a way to God because God is our creator and when we write, we reflect him.
The best ideas I have are of God speaking to me and when I write, I listen to God and express his ideas.
Also, when I write, I get encouraged by God.
Writing is a way to God.
Writing is a Way to Happiness
Writing is a way to happiness because when I write, it gives me joy.
It gives me joy to write and so I like to put my words down.
Whether it’s in a journal or on a website, it gives me joy to see words.
Writing has been a great source of joy for me and it could be for you too if you let yourself write more.
Final Thoughts
If you want to get into the habit of writing but haven’t, simply begin.
Allow yourself to put pen to paper and let your thoughts roam freely.
Once you do that, understand that your writing might be consumed by only a few people.
Your writing might not make you famous or tons of cash but that’s not what it’s all about.
What it’s really all about, well for me is that it’s learning to let go.
It’s letting yourself have a platform and space to express. It’s finding yourself and relishing in the joy of being you.
