It’s okay if you’re scared. You can still achieve your dreams.

Fear is not a personal defect. It is a natural occurrence in the body that puts us on alert against danger. Without some level of fear, we would wander into rush hour traffic, hug wild lions and leap across rooftops like we’re in an action movie.

Fear is a bit of an overachiever, often making us sense danger in ordinary situations. Wild beasts can make our palms sweat and our chests tighten just as much as the thought of public speaking. Some would classify a possible animal attack as a legitimate fear. Public speaking, on the other hand, gets categorized as illegitimate.

Ultimately, labels don’t matter, if what we fear prevents us from living the lives we want.

You do not have to be fearless to achieve your goals. By learning how to work with your fear, you can cultivate your experiences to better understand your desires, and take action towards your dreams.

Recognize the commonality of fear
