Your New Remote Workforce Needs Intimacy
Four suggestions on fostering emotional connections from remote-only pioneers
In June of 2016, Tim Leberecht, founder of The Business Romantic Society, gave a TED Talk addressing one of the biggest questions that the business world is facing in the eye of the COVID-19 storm:
How efficient is a human workforce?
“Half of the human workforce is expected to be replaced by software and robots in the next 20 years… And many corporate leaders welcome that as a chance to increase profits. Machines are more efficient; humans are complicated and difficult to manage.”
Humans are also susceptible to disease and death, which, as we’re seeing has the potential to halt the world economy.
But, as Leberecht points out, humans are also capable of beautiful, innovative work, especially when our lives are on the line.
As a human race, we’ve made a habit out of overcoming unimaginable odds and COVID-19 is our latest opportunity to show what we’re made of as business owners, employees, and human beings.
