For over a decade, Big Valley Towing has provided towing services to a wide variety of customers in the Las Vegas area. From motor clubs to law enforcement agencies, from big rigs to sports cars, Big Valley handles towing jobs of all shapes and sizes.

With 27 trucks and 18 employees, Big Valley is a major operation with complex needs in the towing and roadside assistance industry. In the last year and a half, this successful towing company has streamlined their dispatching services with help from Swoop. A Smooth Transition

“Swoop has come in and been able to address different sides of the house,” says Jose Norena, Big Valley Towing’s Operations Manager. “We had some issues with our previous software. They lost licensing for some Google products that we really use a lot, like Google Maps products. They just stopped innovating.”

In the process of evaluating software providers, Big Valley Towing had already moved forward with another software solution. However, after seeing the simplicity of Swoop, Big Valley ended up shifting gears and going with Swoop. “We were working closely with [the competition’s] CEO, and he said ‘We’re not going to be able to do what you want. We’re going to go ahead and release you from your contract, and I would recommend Swoop,’” Norena recalls. “He recommended it because he knew they could do what we needed.”

Adapting to the Ever-Changing Needs of the Industry

The lack of innovation and inability to adapt that Big Valley encountered with their previous dispatching software providers is not something Norena worries about anymore, thanks to Swoop always keeping an eye on the future. He says that when Big Valley was searching for new dispatch software,

“Swoop asked me what it would take to use their program, and I gave them a list. Over time, they were able to get the whole list checked off.”

One major project Swoop was able to complete for Norena was integrating Big Valley’s color-coding system into the Swoop software. “When you’ve got 30 calls on a board, you need to be able to see what’s what at a glance,” Norena says. “Swoop didn’t have that function, but we said we needed it, and they were able to accommodate us.”

Big Valley has seen a number of benefits from using Swoop, including how user-friendly the software is. Norena says that even his less tech-savvy drivers are able to master Swoop’s convenient interface, which helps reduce response times.

Customer Support Made Easy

Still, Norena says Big Valley benefits the most from the improved support Swoop enables. Swoop’s software lets Big Valley keep customers constantly updated on their progress, increasing customer satisfaction and peace of mind. “It’s like Uber for towing. That’s amazing! When you tell someone it’s going to be two hours, and they’re sitting out in the middle of the desert, two hours seems like two days,” Norena explains. “But if you can look on your phone and see the driver coming, it makes you feel that much better.”

Heading into the future, Big Valley Towing has their sights set on paperless billing, which is another area where they’ll rely on Swoop’s innovative nature. “We would like to go paperless on our invoicing, both in the field and in the office. That’s a huge thing for us, because we’re regulated even on invoicing through the state of Nevada,” Norena says. “That’s going to be one of our biggest tasks this year with our partners at Swoop.”

Considering everything Big Valley Towing has already accomplished in less than two years using Swoop’s digital roadside solutions and tow management software, there are certainly more exciting developments on the horizon for these valued partners. “We’ve had to go through some hoops, but Swoop has really been good for our company,” Norena says. “We’re moving forward together. They’re very receptive to the ideas of the industry.”
