swytchX Nominated For Energy New York Awards (ENYA)!

swytchX is ecstatic to be a 2019 nominee at the Energy New York Awards (ENYA) in affiliation with the New York Energy Consumers Council (NYECC). Each year, the NYECC honors those who have positively impacted the energy reliability, sustainability and economic competitiveness of New York by presenting them with an ENYA. swytchX has been focused on New York City in compliance with Local Law 97 (LL97), which requires large and medium-sized buildings in the city to significantly reduce their carbon emissions (failure to do so has serious tax implications). We have also been working alongside large institutions in NYC to transform the text of LL97 into actionable content, helping to prove reductions in carbon emissions while combining that information with renewable energy production to truly understand the environmental impact. We are thrilled to see NYC step up with an actionable policy and are excited to have developed a platform with products that will enable building owners in NYC to comply with this new legislation, thus saving millions in potential tax!

We’ve Been Busy! Get to ‘Know Your Energy’(™)

Coming off an exciting week where swytchX had a presence at Solar Power International, NY Climate Week, GTM Blockchain in Energy Forum and the World Green Building Council, we are riding the momentum of these events with significant market traction. We are addressing a large gap in today’s market and are fully aligned with trends in the current political and social climate, creating an inherent urgency around what we are building.

Although we are finding a ton of use-case potential, we’d like to focus on a specific function that we are branding as Know Your Energy™, or KYE, protocols. Just like many Fin-Tech markets require Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols to enable financial transactions, we see a lack of KYE in the energy industry preventing companies from truly standing behind their green or renewable claims. Non-data backed claims of 100% net-zero carbon emissions or offsetting consumption with renewable energy are just that, claims. A major transition is happening in the market that will be enabled by an ecosystem of trust and transparency. KYE protocols are a necessary and urgent upgrade to the legacy approaches of measurement, reporting, and verification. We are excited to be a first mover in enabling this necessary transition!

Quoting Richard Headland from independent research firm Which?, “We believe there needs to be greater clarity on how renewable electricity is defined and marketed. People can only make informed decisions about where to buy their energy from if firms are more upfront and transparent about their green credentials.” swytchX has no doubt that many firms are acting truthfully and in good faith, however, we aim to provide the proof mechanism so that these questions need not be asked in the first place.

In line with Greta Thunberg’s emotional address at the UN Climate Summit, cities, local and state governments, utilities and corporations are ramping up their mandates around clean and renewable energy as well as limiting carbon emissions. With these positive progressions, combined with decentralized energy architecture, swytchX is accelerating our technology platform at the perfect time to align with these developments. THE energy accounting system for the future is available TODAY. We are streamlining blockchain type applications typically built for the Fin-Tech sector and aligning them with the needs of the Energy sector. We are confident that in the not too distant future, this type of technology will not be viewed as new and innovative, but commonplace and a necessity. Early adopters will have an inherent strategic advantage over those who are slow to pick up these concepts.

We are not just talk! We are partnering with one of the largest global financial institutions that intend to leverage our source tracking technology across their real estate portfolio. We are moving beyond conceptual pilots to real-world implementations with multiple big-name players. This is not hype. The future is here. Make the swytch!
