02.27: Exploring the Landscape

Affinity mapping our ideas about types of services or uses for services with music

Brainstorming

During our first meeting, we focused on generating and brainstorming ideas about how we discover music, how music can be used and what space we are interested in exploring. Through our discussion, we found that we were most intrigued by the ideas of experiential design and the social aspect of music.

Our brainstorming concepts were broken down into these main categories:

Social

Can music be used to facilitate and enhance social relationships?

Experiential

Can music be used to enhance or augment an experience?

Environment

Can music be used to create better environments, specifically in an urban context?

Creation

Can we help music creators discover each other an collaborate?

B2B

Can we help local musicians get their music featured in commercial works?

Other Considerations

In general, we were most excited by the idea of enviroments and experience. Specifically, we’re interested in exploring music as a way of potentially exploring a space by incorporating music in the process of exploration. Travel, cultural immersion, living in a space, and visiting a space may all come into play.
