What a Giant Pink Phone Taught Me About Relationships and Myself

The second we saw the giant pink box under the tree, we knew our parents had fulfilled our one Christmas wish.

Nothing about the shape itself, a standard large rectangle, aroused our suspicions. It was the fact that this present was the only one addressed to my sister and me alone. Whatever was contained within was something that we, but not our brother, desired. Clawing apart the festive wrapping, we shrieked in glee.

It was Dream Phone.

We took in the quintessential 90s cover: two preteen girls giggling while listening to an unseen boy share secrets. For weeks, it had remained an image on a TV screen. Now, it was in our sweaty, eager little hands.

The premise of the game is simple enough. Dial the numbers and, by process of elimination, find out which boy has a crush on you.

Basically, it was horny Clue.
