Hong Kong & the state of the market…

I spent the last half week in Hong Kong meeting with industry insiders, media, funds and general enthusiasts to show off the Sylo DApp at a series of intimate meetups.

In conclusion, the market has changed a LOT since the beginning of the year already.

It seems the market and participation is naturally evolving at a very rapid rate, with a strong sense of everyone looking for the first real examples of usable blockchain technology. That is, user-facing apps people can pick up and use here and now, for more than just transferring and holding digital assets.

We’ve been on the road for the past six months, all over the world, and the recurring trend is ‘slide show overload’.

As late as last month, I attended a conference in Kuala Lumpur and every single project I saw was still running off power-point slideshows, talking about how the future is coming.

This series of meetups clearly confirmed for me that people are now looking for real implementations of this technology; they’re burnt out on blockchain ‘buzz’. They want to see the output of the significant resource that has been pumped into this space for the last two to three years.

2019 is going to be the year of reality, and it’s already started - in terms of which projects are receiving support and buy in, and which ones are not.
The world is ready to start getting their hands on real value DApps. Watch this space!
