Introducing, the Oya Launch
What the biggest release of our product, ever, means for you.
It’s been a little while since our last release, I know, but we’ve been ramping up for what is frankly, the biggest release of our product, ever. This is the end result of years of learnings, refactors and late nights by our amazing developers, and we are proud to say it’s been totally worth it.
It is… the Oya Launch. A total realignment of the Sylo Network infrastructure that supports apps like the Sylo Smart Wallet.
This launch is the culmination of many developments across our backend architecture and app, resulting in an experience similar in performance to centralised products, but very much decentralised. ‘Oya’ is the goddess of rebirth and lightning— very fitting given this is a rebirth of sorts for communication as we know it, and well… it’s fast ;) This will be the first of a naming convention we’d like to run with in future major Sylo releases.
With the Sylo Smart Wallet already one of the most adopted apps in the crypto-sphere, we are confident this release will skyrocket both the app and everything else we have to offer to an unprecedented next level.
Decentralised tech can be mainstream, and this release represents a giant step towards our vision of a future worth looking forward to, for everyone.
What is in the Oya launch?
- The ability to create your own Sylo Node and provide your own comms infrastructure to the community.
- A faster, smoother user experience in the Sylo Smart Wallet. It will now be just as snappy as the likes of Messenger or Whatsapp, but decentralised!
- A network which we can scale to support millions of users, transactions, apps, and businesses.
- The introduction of token staking and earning mechanics.
How can you get involved?
There are two fundamental ways in which you can make the most of Sylo after the Oya launch.
First of all, by running a Sylo Node.
Running a Sylo Node will get you directly involved in two of the key tenets of decentralisation — participation and fair reward. We have a pool of SYLO tokens set aside to reward the initial providers of our Network.
In time, as more services get integrated into Sylo Nodes, rewards will also come in the form of micropayments of the Sylo Token from other users who use providers’ services.
Secondly, by simply remaining a loyal Sylo Smart Wallet user!
We’ll be gradually migrating to the new infrastructure over the course of the next month. This transition will be as smooth as possible, so sit back and relax as we teleport the app and your experience into the future.
In the days and weeks to come, our team will be providing detailed instructions on everything you need to know regarding Sylo Nodes and their set up in the lead up to the Oya launch.
