Projekt Ilaiyaraaja Season III — 107/365 — Vanam Niram Maarum

Dhavani Kanavugal had some scintillating songs, and I consider “Oru Nayagan” as one of the best mass hero songs in Tamil cinema. But, this song went unnoticed because of the other two fantastic songs.
The song starts after a funny sequence in the theatre that’s quite popular in social media these days. Bhagyaraj is trying to distract his sisters from watching a sensuous scene on the screen and failing miserably at it. Apart from his sisters, his maternal uncle’s daughter, who’s in love with him, is also present. The song unfolds like a dream sequence from her perspective, and of course, the song has to be sensuous. Ilaiyaraaja uses Hamsanandi with a different beat pattern to exude that sensuality and romance.
