Projekt Ilaiyaraaja Season III — 33/365 — Oru Devathai

Ilaiyaraaja adores Asha Bhosle. And, whenever they collaborated, we have received some beautiful songs. Naan Sonnathey Sattam is the only Tamil album in which all the female version songs have been rendered by Asha Bhosle.

Incidentally, Ilaiyaraaja has used Asha Bhosle as a playback singer for Rekha in few movies (for eg., Shenbagame Shenbagame from Enga Ooru Paatukkaran).

The song might remind you of Nee Oru Kadhal Sangeetham. It’s interesting because Nee Oru Kadhal Sangeetham is based on Kalyani whereas this one is Shuddh Sarang with shades of Kalyani. The interludes are perfect Shuddh Sarang.
