Projekt Ilaiyaraaja Season III — 79/365 — Pattu Poo Poo

There is no other music composer who could perfectly blend a Carnatic raga and western orchestration like Ilaiyaraaja. Pattu Poo Poo from Veera is a perfect example of this. The song is a beautifully composed Naatai with a peppy western orchestration. I think the song was supposed to be picturised on Roja’s character in Veera but didn’t make it to the final cut.

Naatai is an interesting raga and to know more about it, I would suggest you read Vid Dev’s post on the raga. Do you know that there are a lot of Naatai songs on Vinayagar (Lord Ganesha)?
