Hello, fellow Symbiotes!

During the last few weeks, the team has been working intensely and now we’re almost ready to launch the first truly multi-chain instant swap platform. Like no other, literally.

With great pride, we can disclose that almost 90,000 unique users went through our public testnet since it was launched in October 2021. For all those, 6 main networks were available: Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Avalanche, OEC, and HECO. With the same setup, we’re going to launch our mainnet.

Here, we want to make a short recap of what our devs team did, and we group it into several parts.

Smart Contracts

As for the news from our smart contract team, they did:

  • Conducted an internal security audit;
  • Enabled commission-taking in stablecoins;
  • Added option to send signed transactions both to the MPC address and to an external signer;
  • Limited the bridging functionality for stable assets only; for the rest, DEX is available as well;
  • Enabled Solana support (Rust);
  • Extended tests coverage;
  • Made gas optimization.

In the meantime, two external audits have been successfully passed, we’re undergoing one more before the mainnet launch. All the audits will be publicly available soon.

Relayers Network

For the Relayers network, our existing state of the art includes:

  • TSS libraries load testing;
  • Refactoring;
  • Optimized P2P node connection;
  • Node runners documentation and environment configs;
  • Conducted epoch change tests;
  • Performed several stability tests, including tests with external parties;
  • Added EdDSA signatures support;
  • TSS group authentication through staking;
  • Staking v. 0.5
  • Network monitoring;
  • Performed security audit;
  • Added support to multiple RPC blockchain nodes.

Mobile SDK and More

The Symbiosis WebApp is by far the most representative showcase of the whole protocol performance, so we naturally put a lot of effort into it. Up to now, the team has:

  • Made a huge codebase refactoring;
  • Enabled various E2E tests;
  • Optimized transaction routes and paid commissions accordingly;
  • Added Coin98 and xDEFI as supported wallets.

We naturally envision that building ties with already existing projects would be a wise strategy to follow, so we managed to develop a public cross-chain mobile SDK for iOS/Android native and JS/Typescript libraries to integrate with browser extensions, mostly wallets.

R&D and Team Extension

We emphasized several times that the Symbiosis protocol is built with the use of battle-tested security primitives, and TSS/MPC libraries are among them. However, we are in constant search of new approaches in this space.

Among the additional research areas: the use of various L2s, both the protocol enhancement and the SIS token. Indeed, at the moment we provide farming on the Ethereum network, however, in the near future Ethereum L2 farming is also planned. We believe that this can lower the entry barriers for early Symbiosis adopters and bring more people into our community.

Last but not least, our tech team has grown 2x times since the TGE in November 2021, now we have several Rust, Solidity, Golang developers. Besides, from now on we have an internal Security Engineer, Product Analyst, and a skillful Frontend developer.

All the above is applied to Symbiosis v.1. As we have outlined in our roadmap for 2022, the v.2 is currently under simultaneous development and we expect it to be live by Q3.

Wrapping it Up: What to Expect?

Well, first off, the mainnet. The specific date for it is to be provided shortly.

Right after that, in Q1-Q2 this year we plan:

  • Solana fully-fledged integration (a limited version will be present at first);
  • Terra integration (already in development);
  • More L1/L2 networks;
  • Ethereum L2 SIS farming;
  • SIS Liquidity cross-chain farming;
  • Integrations with wallets, browser extensions, and more.

The plan is clear as it always has been. Together, with leaps and bounds, we’re building a standard for the multi-chain metaverse.

Watch this space for more.
