2017 Predictions by Symph

We are over getting over 2016 — the year that has proven to be full of surprises.

As we’re off to yet another best year of your lives, we’re leaving a list of our predictions for the world to consider.

What piece of tech is going to take off in the following months, what change in our beloved apps are going to cause noise in our social media pages, what are most probably the design trends in the next 12 months? We can only guess.

Here’s our 17 of 2017

1. Apple will release another Mac redesign that will also remove all the ports. And most probably a flip iphone.
2. The first of many human vs machine road rage incidents will occur, with a human driver smashing a self driving car after it actually stopped for 3+ seconds at a stop sign.
3. AI Home-based bots will be available for consumers for a cheaper price. Hence, more smart homes will be hacked.
4. Grammar Patrol badges will be a thing.
5. Nokia will come back with a touchscreen 3310.
6. Mobile First approach on almost every web project — okay, so this may not be news but it takes an extra priority point this year with the continuing rise of mobile users. Designers are now extra focused on interaction instead of just layout, therefore a rise in prototyping tools.
7. Real Estate Agents will soon dominate the web sphere (see: HappyWebs)
8. Amazon had a patent for a flying warehouse — Google will come up with a flying datacenter. It will be called, “The Cloud”.
9. Electronic Freedom of Information will be a norm in the Philippines (check it out: EFOI)
10. Chatbots will become Chatbaes for lonely developers out there (startup idea!!!).
11. Speaking of chatbots, AI x Texting will be a thing. We all need that perfect mix of innovation and nostalgia.
12. Facebook Messenger will integrate Tinder functions in its app. No surprise there.
13. Cersei Lannister will be worse than ever — with her kids gone so is her humanity — so this might mean the Queenslayer title is up for grabs. Tyrion, Jaime, Gendry, anyone?
14. Everybody will be switching back to windows! (In an alternate universe)
15. Another Symph-er gets nominated for the second GDE of Philippines.
16. We finally buy licensed photoshop and illustrator but everybody’s already using Sketch.
17. In Symph, there will be change. there will be growth, there will be expenses and discoveries as we bring our company to bigger places (digital or no) — eventually, no one will have to ask: “What is Symph?” *cheesy* But for now, this article will have to do — what is symph
