From Non-technical to Technical: The SyncDAO Founders’ Coding Journey
On June 21, 2023, my co-founder Paul Holland and I, Rossco Paddison, held a discord to discuss our transformation from non-technical founders to aspiring tech-savvy entrepreneurs. We highlighted our motivations, advancements, and decision to welcome our community into this enlightening journey.
Venturing into the Tech World
Initially, Paul and I established SyncDAO with no direct intent to immerse ourselves in the intricate realm of coding. However, as we delved deeper, we understood that to ensure the venture’s sustainability and propel it towards success, mastering the technical facets was paramount.
Over recent months, we’ve initiated our journey to learn code, transitioning from traditional business roles to technical founders. Our maiden coding project involves creating an ERC-721 contract for our NFTs and designing a user interface (UI) in React.
Coding Our First NFTs
Marking a significant step in our coding voyage, we have successfully coded our first NFTs. Named SyncFrens, these 150 unique tokens will be minted and offered for free to our whitelisted community members.
The SyncFrens NFTs carry more than just a commemorative value. They also bestow access to a gated section of our Discord server.
This exclusive hub is where we’ll share the insights, triumphs, and hurdles of our coding journey. Token holders will have first-hand experience of our progress and be an integral part of our development.
The Future: Perpetual Vault Tokens (PVTs)
Looking ahead, our ambitions extend to the development of Perpetual Vault Tokens (PVTs). Although this is a future endeavour, we are confident that the knowledge and expertise we acquire throughout our coding journey will provide the necessary foundation to successfully implement this complex project.
Valuing the Process
By making our journey public, we aim to demonstrate that despite the substantial shifts the world has witnessed over the past months, these transformations open doors for non-technical individuals like us to acquire skills like coding.
Advancements in AI and technology have prepared a pathway for us to widen our knowledge and expertise.
Our roadmap is extensive, our goals lofty, but we are committed to valuing the journey above all. We celebrate not just the major milestones but also the minor victories and the wisdom gleaned from our missteps.
