GINKAN Inc., the managing company of the social restaurant review service SynchroLife, has launched their mobile ordering feature in J1 League Soccer Team Kawasaki Frontale’s stadium. Starting with the game on September 26th, fans will be able to order exclusive doughnuts from Kawasaki Frontale’s official cafe “FRO CAFE” in advance and pick them up at the stadium on the day of the game.

This is the first time a J League Club Team Japanese professional soccer team has adopted SynchroLife’s mobile order system.

Reason for Proof-of-Test & Solving the Problem of Food and Drink Purchases During Soccer Games

Most fans attending soccer games purchase food and drink either before the game begins or during half-time, creating a rush to restaurants. Fans are trapped in long lines for sometimes 30 minutes or longer and some fans even give up on purchasing food and drink. This issue has worsened in the past year as stadiums try to avoid close proximity between fans in lines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

By using SynchroLife mobile ordering, fans can take their time browsing the menu and pay ahead, eliminating the need to line up at stadium restaurants. Fans can skip the line and pick up food and drinks just by showing their mobile phone screen. This allows restaurants to spend less time and resources running the registers, and allows restaurants to reduce food loss by knowing what orders to expect in advance. Plus with cashless payment, both the fans and restaurant staff can avoid contact and are kept safer from the spread of viruses.

SynchroLife’s mobile ordering system was first tested in Frontale’s soccer stadium in March 2021 because it solves the problems of stadium food and drink ordering and provides big benefits for both restaurants and fans. Frontale decided to implement SynchroLife’s mobile order permanently after seeing it run smoothly during this first test and seeing how it helped create repeat diners for restaurants.

FRO CAFE, Kawasaki Frontale’s official cafe that opened in spring 2020, will be providing exclusive food products via mobile ordering. FRO CAFE has been a partner restaurant with SynchroLife since before the new mobile ordering feature, and has seen great marketing success with SynchroLife’s fully automated program for repeat customers. Over 60% of first time diners at FRO CAFE who receive a coupon to come back a second time do! FRO CAFE has over 500 reviews in SynchroLife and is one of SynchroLife’s popular restaurants. With the implementation of mobile ordering, now users will be able to buy from FRO CAFE even more conveniently.

Future Plans & Supporting Local Businesses

In the future, Frontale plans to expand the range of SynchroLife’s mobile ordering to cover other restaurants in the stadium and make stadium dining even more convenient. SynchroLife will also be adding features to encourage Frontale fans to go dine at local restaurants in the Kawasaki area after games.

SynchroLife will continue to grow and improve its services not just to digitize stadium dining, but to help increase soccer fan loyalty in the local city, support local restaurants and businesses, and help fans have fun. About the Digitalize Stadium Dining & Support Local Business Project

This project is a joint project with GINKAN and Frontale. It was originally proposed at the “Realizing stadium food, drink, and regional revitalization with DX” project and was selected for the “Business Accelerator Kanagawa” in Kanagawa Prefecture.

SynchroLife will be helping to digitally transform marketing for restaurants in the Kawasaki Frontale stadium and local restaurants in the Kawasaki area surrounding the stadium through mobile ordering and a cryptocurrency point system that utilizes blockchain technology. Through mobile ordering, SynchroLife helps to mitigate crowds, allow for cashless payments, helps reduce food loss, and will enable restaurants to offer bonuses and other incentives for diners depending on the score and results of the Kawasaki Frontale stadium games.
