SynchroLife Selected as AWS Startup Architecture of the Year 2020 Finalist and Wins Solution Architect Award
GINKAN, Inc., the managing company behind SynchroLife, was chosen as one of six finalists for the AWS Startup Architecture of the Year 2020 Japan Live Finale held on September 16, 2020, and was awarded the “Solution Architect Award”.
The AWS Startup Architecture of the Year 2020 is a pitch battle where startups around the world compete for the title of world’s most well architected startup. GINKAN was chosen for the final round in Japan, the Japan Live Finale, and SynchroLife was awarded the Solution Architect Award after co-founder and CTO Hiroshi Mita’s presentation.
About the Solution Architect Award
The Solution Architect Award is chosen by AWS (Amazon Web Service) solution architects and awarded to the most “well architected” startup. The “Well-Architected” standards of AWS are made up of five pillars (operational efficiency, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization), and the startup that fulfills these requirements best is awarded with the Solution Architect Award.

AWS Startup Architecture of the Year 2020
AWS Startup Architecture of the Year is a pitch battle that started at AWS Summit in 2018 where startups from all around the world are rated based on their system architecture. The judges for the finale in Japan in 2020 included industry leaders such as Yuki Matsumoto of DMM.com, Hideyuki Takeuchi of UB Ventures, Suguru Namura of Mercari, and Masaki Fujimoto of GREE. Six startups were chosen for the final round in Japan.
Participating startups compete based on their service architecture, and are rated based on the standards of AWS Well-Architected Framework (scalability, reliability, performance, cost effectiveness, and security), on their strategic solution (container, AI/ML, big data, IoT, server-less, AR/VR), as well as on what kind of clear business impact their solution has.
