SynchroLife Wins the Japan Financial Innovation Award 2020 (JFIA 2020) Startup Award

GINKAN Inc., the managing company of SynchroLife, the social restaurant discovery app that allows users to earn cryptocurrency for posting reviews and dining out, won the Japan Financial Innovation Award 2020 (JFIA 2020) Startup Award. The Japan Financial Innovation Award is a new award by FINOLAB Inc. and FINOVATORS for companies that have shown innovation in the financial industry.
GINKAN received the Startup Award based on their work connecting SynchroLife and Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS Co., Ltd. which allowed diners to earn cryptocurrency cashback when dining out and using a credit card.
SynchroLife users can earn on average 1%~5% of their dining bill cashback in SynchroCoin (SYC) cryptocurrency just by dining at participating restaurants and scanning a QR code when paying for their meal.
During a proof-of-concept campaign with Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS Co., Ltd., SynchroLife users were able to earn cryptocurrency just by using their credit card. Users earn cryptocurrency rewards based on their dining history as confirmed through their credit card statements.
This program allows users to earn cashback without the hassle of scanning a QR code. Recent years have seen a rush of new payment and marketing tools, and there are many that offer rewards to consumers and new ways for restaurants to attract customers. But the wide variety of programs is causing confusion for both consumers and restaurants. One of the biggest merits of SynchroLife’s program with Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS Co., Ltd. is that both consumers and restaurants benefit without having new operations to learn.
GINKAN plans to continue creating new value in the fintech industry while building a global token economy based on “food”.
What’s JFIA 2020?
JFIA 2020 is an award newly established in 2020 that strives to promote the advancement of information and communication technology use in the financial industry, share best practices within the industry, and help corporations and groups expand beyond their boundaries and explore open innovation. There are three categories for awards: startups, financial institutions, and corporations. The award is run by Japan’s leading fintech center “FINOLAB”, and they selected over 300 innovative financial related groups as candidates in 2019. Among these 300 candidates, FINOVATORS’ financial experts selected the JFIA 2020 winners based on their innovativeness, growth, and potential to transform the financial industry.

Earn Cryptocurrency While Dining Out
SynchroLife users can earn SynchroCoin (SYC) cryptocurrency as a reward for posting restaurant reviews or as 1%~5% cashback (set individually by restaurants, with the maximum cashback rewards being 20%) just by dining at participating restaurants.
