In a recent blog post, Microsoft recently announced a new offer for companies who wish to switch from on-premises SharePoint to Office 365. This offer bolsters recent efforts by Microsoft to shift its customers to a subscription-based cloud model.

When you purchase more than 150 seats for Office 365, this offer gets you a dedicated (remote) FastTrack engineer to help you through a 4-step process:

1. Kick off the onboarding process
A FastTrack Center representative will contact you within 30 days of your eligible purchase of Office 365, EMS, or Azure. Or you can request assistance if you’re ready to get going sooner. Your FastTrack team and your in-house project team will meet to review your onboarding needs.

2. Assess your environment
Your FastTrack engineer will work with your project team to assess your IT environment to identify any aspects of your current infrastructure that need to be changed to better ensure a great experience.

3. Remediate any issues
You’ll receive a checklist and plan from your FastTrack engineer that you can use to help you remediate any issues that were uncovered during the assessment process.

4. Enable core capabilities
Your FastTrack team will help you ensure that your cloud solution is ready to use, licenses are assigned appropriately, and eligible services are migrated.

This free service typically takes four to six weeks to complete according to Microsoft.

As stated above, this offer requires you to have 150 or more seats for Office 365. So it’s not available to consumers or very small businesses. But for mid-sized businesses and enterprise customers, this is an attractive offer. Free migration and reduced ongoing maintenance expenses from moving to the cloud make Office 365 a tempting proposition.

Engineers are available who speak the following languages:
Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.
