In case you haven’t heard, YouTube just tightened the rules around content monetization and partnerships. WildSpark provides an earning solution for those who can’t monetize directly through YouTube.

Only recently established itself, the previous requirement for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) was 10,000 lifetime views. However, as of January 16, 2018, YPP eligibility will require 4,000 hours (240,000 minutes) of watchtime within the past year AND 1,000 subscribers. There will be no grandfathering into the program; channels which are monetized now, but which do not meet the new eligibility requirements will be fully demonetized as of February 20, 2018.

The full text of YouTube’s new rules can be found here.

Google and YouTube say the changes are supposed to protect YouTube’s ecosystem, and “prevent bad actors from harming the inspiring and original creators around the world who make their living on YouTube.” However, how exactly the changes will accomplish this is not really apparent; channels like Logan Paul’s easily meet YouTube’s new monetization criteria, but still post content that is widely criticized as inappropriate and add to YouTube’s line of revenue. Meanwhile, the new rules will completely demonetize small channels.

For those who now can’t monetize directly through YouTube, linking WildSpark to your YouTube channel can help you earn real money from the first view of any video. WildSpark can help any channel monetize — especially new, small, or niche channels, which require the most support.
