Introducing our New and Improved Leaderboard

The WildSpark Leaderboard has been around almost as long as WildSpark itself. It is designed as a pool-based model, with 7.5 percent of every Amplification going into a pool to be divided up among the leaderboard winners. The larger the pool, the bigger the prize, and the more participants get a share in it. Of course, there have been some adjustments and improvements to the Leaderboard since its inception, one of which was to reduce self-Amplifications in order to facilitate and encourage the Amplification of content other than one’s own.

Starting this week we’re making perhaps one of the biggest changes of all. As of June 18, the weekly Leaderboard contest will only take into account content Amplified throughout the course of that particular week.

The reason for this change is two-fold:

1. To promote the creation and curation of fresh, new content
2. To level the playing field for curators, as well as creators, and their latest content during the leaderboard competition

We encourage everyone to take advantage of these improvements, and we look forward to seeing the new content generated and Amplified as a result.
