On July 9, SynFutures hosted the first Borderless Summit at The Hotel Brussels, bringing together crypto enthusiasts and industry leaders from across the globe to delve into the “Meme Revolution.” The event, which focused on the burgeoning field of memecoins and their impact on the Web3 landscape, provided a unique platform for leaders from the East and West to share insights and experiences.
The summit began with a warm registration and coffee session, followed by opening remarks from Rachel Lin, SynFutures co-founder and CEO, that set the stage for an afternoon of insightful discussions.
Panel 1: Market-making Long-tail Assets
The first session dove into the strategies and tools used to create liquidity and stability in volatile long-tail assets like memecoins. The session featured Ivaylo Kirilov (RavenDAO), Alain Kunz (GSR), Stef Wynendaele (Keyrock), and Ruben Brons (Flow Traders) and was moderated by Wenxin from the BD team at Kronos Research.
Panel 2: Emerging Opportunities in MemeFi
The second session, moderated by Wendy from the investment team at IOSG, explored how innovative platforms leverage the popularity of memecoins to create new financial products and opportunities. Panelists included Halcyon Price (Chaos Labs), Eugene Ng (DWF Labs/OpenEden), Eva Weng (Caladan), and Grace (Ring Protocol).
Panel 3: Meme-charging Community and User Growth
During the third panel, experts shared strategies for using memes to build vibrant and engaged communities and enhance user acquisition. Amanda Cassatt, founder and CEO of Serotonin, led the discussion, which featured Charles (Galxe), Kevin McCordic (Monad), and Dr. Pudding (Kudasai/Omakase).
Panel 4: Memeifying Korean Retail
Led by Mark Lee, CMO at SynFutures, the fourth panel of the afternoon centered on Korean retail users and strategies to capture this dynamic audience through memecoins. Panelists included Derek Chang (Kroma), Jae Lee (Xangle), and Ian Lau (Presto Labs).
Panel 5: Breaking Down the Memenomics Formula
The last panel dissected the economic principles and tokenomics driving the success of memecoins, unraveling the underlying mechanisms influencing their market behavior. Moderated by Rachel Lin, panelists included Rob Hadick (Dragonfly), Jonathan Gieg (Pantera), and Kuan Huang (IOSG).
The event concluded with closing remarks and a networking cocktail hour, where attendees could mingle and discuss the day’s insights.
