Guests tune in to a presentation during the SynFutures x SCB 10X party.

This past November, we traveled to Bangkok to celebrate Thailand Blockchain Week. From an event hosted at SCB 10X’s new blockchain hub to various speaking engagements throughout the week, the SynFutures team stayed busy meeting old friends, new partners, and other members of the Web3 community.

Check out our recap of the festivities below.

SynFutures x SCB 10X Web3 Developer Networking Party

To kick off the week, SCB 10X, a holding company of investment company SCBX Group, and SynFutures co-hosted an event at DistrictX, an innovative new 10,000-square-foot web3 collaborative space in the heart of Bangkok. The two main areas, the Hacker House and Exponential Hub, provide ample room for SCB 10X’s partners and builders in SCB 10X’s incubation program to work and develop their projects.

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed drinks, music, and conversation with established and emerging builders and founders in Thailand’s burgeoning blockchain scene.

After a presentation from Mukaya (Tai) Panich, SCB 10X CEO and CIO, SynFutures’ own Matthew Liu shared why DeFi is the future of finance and how SynFutures is addressing the barriers in widespread adoption.

The event also featured a panel moderated by Dr. Tanwa Arpornthip, Blockchain Technical Advisor of SCB 10X. Guest speakers Bryan Pellegrino, co-founder and CEO at LayerZero (and a recent guest on the FutureX podcast), and Sergey Gorbunov, CEO and co-founder of Axelar, discussed the trends and opportunities in the cross-chain space and how their respective projects have contributed to solutions.

Blockchain Thailand Genesis 2022

The main event during Thailand Blockchain Week, Blockchain Thailand Genesis 2022, came back for a fifth year with dozens of speakers. This year’s theme was “Road to Web3” and included topics such as NFTs, the metaverse, DeFi, GameFi, and other emerging technologies.

Matthew appeared on a panel along with Joseph Lim, founder of Coinhall, and moderated by Patikorn Trethasayuth, CEO at Bitcoin Addict Thailand, to discuss the role of oracles in the blockchain ecosystem.

We had a great time in Bangkok and look forward to attending more events during Thailand Blockchain Week next year!
