Mobile eCommerce — PWA or AMP or BOTH?

E-Commerce is fast shifting to m-Commerce. Customers carry the market on their devices. And businesses face huge competition as many have hopped onto the easy-to-board, online bandwagon.

So, it is not just the question of tapping into this market but being on top. Every small thing that can be done to enhance User Acquisition and Engagement should be done. Now is the time!

Businesses must target the following key considerations:

  • Driving traffic from search engines to their product pages,
  • High-speed rendering of information to create a seamless, uncompromising User experience,
  • Detailed and Reliable Analytics

One of the top-most contenders of mobile eCommerce Applications is Progressive Web Apps. PWAs allow businesses to deliver great app-like experience on the Web to effectively engage and convert customers. They have fast replaced native mobile apps in the eCommerce sector.

A lot of traffic to product pages is expected from mobile search engines. We don’t have control over external platforms like search engines or social media, and that’s when Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) seems to make a lot of sense. AMP was introduced by Google in 2015 to create faster loading web pages for mobile devices, to boost their searchability on mobile search engines.

Instead of having to choose between the two, a perfect combination of the PWA and the AMP into your eCommerce application can do a lot to boost User engagement and Sales.
