Blockchain investor and thought leader Meltem Demirors is joining the Syntropy strategic advisory board to lead our Alliance for an Open Internet initiative. This alliance will be a unified hub for discussion and action around data privacy, user rights, and fair access.

Syntropy’s strategic advisory board already includes current and former executives from Microsoft, AT&T, Verizon, and more. Learn more here.

Our technology makes the internet a secure experience by default, giving more power to professional and everyday users to control their data. But we’re not alone. Thousands of other projects, teams, and individuals are working every day to make the internet a user-first place. This alliance concentrates and maximizes the power of these efforts.

In addition to our tech, we’re dedicating $1 million in capital over five years to support and catalyze the new Alliance.

Through our Builders program, we proved that people from around the world want to build on the next-gen internet. The Alliance brings this push to another level, providing the resources necessary (capital, relationships, technology, etc) to empower others to contribute to a user-centric internet.

The internet should put users first.

The Alliance empowers everyone to get involved in the battle for a user-centric internet. By registering on the Alliance website, you can:

  1. Join the movement — Get on our email list to stay informed and create change.
  2. Join a project— We can connect your skills to a project that needs them.
  3. Build the future— Starting your own initiative? Let us know how we can help. The bulk of our $1 million commitment will go towards supporting efforts to realize a user-centric internet. That includes research, events, and direct grants to entrepreneurs and projects.

Demirors will leverage our team’s technical expertise and capital to bring together major thought leaders, projects, and organizations to create awareness and momentum around internet infrastructure, applications, and networks with a user-centric approach. The Alliance will also play an active role in supporting advocacy groups, research organizations, and activists working to promote and protect internet privacy and encryption.

“As compute and connectivity permeates every aspect of our lives, network routing topology is becoming more important than ever. Syntropy is bringing radical change to the public internet without requiring costly hardware or software deployment. Their technology is important for public awareness and perception of encryption and internet privacy, and I’m eager to continue to collaborate with the Syntropy team and the broader crypto and tech ecosystem to find novel ways to find, fund, and foster these efforts.” — Meltem Demirors, CSO at CoinShares
