Syscoin Community Member of the Month — August
We had great success in our ambassador program’s first official month. Over 500 people applied to be part of the program in some sort of capacity.
While we cant include everyone in an official capacity, we want to reiterate that EVERYONE is invited to participate in growing this community. Whether you are a brilliant Meme maker who spreads all relevant news like @syscoinspain on twitter or a highly motivated moderator that’s always willing to help others out, like Marki, we are extremely thankful for your contribution to the ecosystem.
This month we’d like to give special consideration to our first ever community member of the month; SoyCripto.
In addition to his consistent YouTube video contributions on relevant Syscoin topics we are giving him the award this month largely based on his PoDA (Proof of Data Availability) video. Data availability is a HUGE issue that doesn’t get talked about much in the rollup world. To date, there is not much content out there that explains what it is and why it’s necessary. Soycripto’s video was so good and detailed that we have translated it word for word from Spanish to English for more to benefit from it. To be perfectly clear, Soycripto created this video upon his own merit and wasn’t paid to do so. We genuinely appreciate proactive activities from community members like this and will always look for ways to recognize and reward them.
I caught up with Soy Cripto to get to know him more and share a little bit about him with the community. Below is a bit of Q&A which I’ve taken the liberty to also translate from Spanish to english
Where are you from?
Medellín, Antioquia (Colombia)
How did you get in to crypto and when did you first learn about Syscoin?
For crypto it was around 2018 when I was chatting with some friends about alternative investment opportunities.
In regards to Syscoin it was April of 2021 when I came across on twitter a podcast that Jag Sidhu was on. Then i kept following.
What drew you the most to Syscoin?
They are aligned with what truly is the latest technology of scale in the rollup industry. Plus their architecture in relation to scaling us the most unique on the market. Bitcoin Merged Mining + ChainLocks + NEVM + Rollups + PODA.
Is there anything you want the community to know about you?
Yes! I am very passionate about the blockchain industry and crypto currencies. Overall, educating myself in the best ways. Over 4 years ago i got involved as ‘just another user’ but these 4 years its been constant learning without stopping. Some intense days, nights and weekends.
How do you see the Syscoin community and what can we do to grow it further? For me it is a community that is growing as it should, organically and closely aligned with the progress of the project to date. I believe that strategies can be implemented so that the added value of everything that is being developed is understood in a simplified way (due to its complexity.) When the common crypto user manages to understand it easily, he falls in love with Technology. When they don’t understand the first thing they think is that this is just “nice talk.”
