Inside out

A few thoughts of a worker on the front line…

People are not only the sum of the referral we receive.
Beyond the labels, there is more.
I call it survivors spirit.

It cant be seen or written down on a form or ticked off in any box.
A light that has not quite gone out.
A hope, even if unknown, that maybe just maybe one day things will be different.

Fanning the flame of this fighting spirit, reflecting the inside out seeing beyond the labels to the person.
This is how i see my role.

I don’t care about what you may have done as much as i care about who you are and who you may want to be.
Inside we are all human no outside label can take that away.
Change begins by looking at the inside out not the outside in.
