Sustainable living and green energy have become trending terms for the last couple of years. This has much to do with the deteriorating climate — all the credit goes to global warming. The reasons causing global warming are many, but burning fossil fuels can be claimed as the main culprit behind the environmental sabotage. There are about 1.2 billion vehicles on the road worldwide, which account for 15% of the human-made carbon dioxide. The credit for this carbon footprint goes to ICEVs (Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles). These types of vehicles convert energy using the heat emitted by burning gasoline to run ICEVs, which leaves behind a trail of the carbon footprint that increases global warming.

No doubt that electric vehicles are becoming popular by the day because they don’t need petroleum or diesel to run. They run using electricity and can be charged at EV Charging Stations. All thanks to government subsidies and competitive car markets that electric vehicles are becoming affordable by the day. In fact, there is news in the air that individuals using electric vehicles will also get tax benefits in India. The flow of the wind says that electric vehicles are, in fact, the future of human mobility mainly because they are eco-friendly and would be cheaper in terms of ICEVs because of the soaring gasoline prices.

This shift will bring altogether a different revolution of how these vehicles would be charged. Some organizations believe in the potential of going green and the surge towards eco-friendly vehicles. This would give rise to EV Charging Stations, just like Petrol Pumps, in the current scenario where individuals can go and charge their electric vehicles. There are also EV chargers which individuals can purchase so that they can charge their vehicles at home.

The sustainability behind these electric vehicles comes from the fact that they don’t emit carbon dioxide and hence leave no carbon footprint behind. But, if this means of transport is genuinely eco-friendly or not depends on how the electricity used to charge it through EV chargers or at EV Charging Stations comes from.

Electricity can be generated using solar power, wind power, hydroelectricity, etc. which have zero carbon emission. But, electricity is also produced using burning natural gas or coal, which are not eco-conscious methods. So, where the electricity used to charge these EVs comes from decides if these vehicles are truly eco-friendly or not. But, even if the source of electricity is not the green one, the electric vehicles still leave behind no carbon emission, which makes them any day better than ICEVs.

EV Charging

To conclude, we may say that electric vehicles are what a sustainable future needs. This surge brings new potential to the market dealing in Electric Vehicles, EV Charging Stations and EV Chargers. Private and government agencies worldwide understand the potential of using green energy to reduce carbon emission by significant degrees. Organizations making the best of this opportunity and investing in revolutionizing human mobility can be the front runners of this landscape shift.
