In a Perfect World

A layman’s exploration of systemic “What if”

Like many designers, I have been blessed (and cursed) with the often-intrusive sixth sense for noticing when things don’t work as well as they should. Some problems that I pick up on are small or align with my occupation, like frustrating website navigation. Other, larger problems that pertain to our existing political, economic, and social systems take over my mind for a few days while I dream of solutions before life takes over again.

In addition to this I am also young and naive - traits which allow me to believe that, somewhere out there, solutions do exist and I need only find them. Unfortunately, my relationship with big-system philosophical thought is so on-again, off-again that my best ideas always seem to end up forgotten.

“Start a blog series! It’ll be a great way to organize your thoughts and get feedback!” — my brain

So here goes. I don't have any specific training in any of this, but I will do research where I can and I welcome all credible sources alongside your opinions because who knows, maybe together we can find a way to make this world a little bit closer to perfect!
