After the Bitcoin crisis, the cryptocurrency or blockchain has become no longer the story of another world to the public. Particularly, interest in block-chain technology is increasing in all fields where transactions are made.

One of the biggest features of blockchain is decentralization, and it is a database system that is difficult to be hacked. Blockchain eliminated a central server and distributes the data for decentralization. However, because block-chain has no central server, it is limited in its efficiency and throughput compared to existing centralized services.

To solve these problems, LIOS platform introduces 2D Blockchain Network.

2D Blockchain network is a decentralized system designed to overcome these limitations. 2D Blockchain network achieves dual decentralization with decentralization of ‘distributed business logic’ in addition to the decentralization of ‘distributed data’. 2D Blockchain network can achieve the throughput of centralized services and the security of decentralized service at the same time, and it can be serviced efficiently with less computing resource-intensive environments.

Existing blockchain technology composes blockchain nodes in a one-dimensional network, therefore N blockchain nodes are required to implement N distributed Ledger. 2D Blockchain network achieves the effective efficiency of having n × m Blockchain nodes with only n + m nodes. Connections between a terminal node and a biz node and between a biz node and a blockchain node may arbitrarily be created at any time, so it is not possible to selectively choose a specific blockchain node to connect to. Within a 2D Blockchain network, no one can intentionally produce high loads on a specific blockchain node.

Terminal nodes access the network in a distributed fashion through Biz nodes. Each Biz Node connects to Blockchain nodes with balanced loads. By building a distributed ledger network as a permission distributed ledger network, 2D Blockchain network achieves the similar throughput and efficiency of a centralized network. In addition, even in the extreme situation where the entire Biz nodes are under attack, Blockchain nodes are protected as a permission type, thus the blockchain nodes are not compromised but may only degrade the throughput.
