Your iPhone uses the name specified in its settings when sharing data with other devices using AirDrop, network connections, and other scenarios. Most often, this is either “iPhone” or “iPhone [your name],” but you don’t have to leave it that way.

Why change? The answer is straightforward — this is how you make your iPhone unique. It will be easier for those who connect to your smartphone to identify it among the many others. That’s the point.

So let’s take a closer look at how to change your iPhone’s name.

How to give another name to your iPhone

There’s nothing complicated about renaming your iPhone. So follow these instructions:

  • First, open Settings and go to General.
  • Then tap About.
  • After that, select Name.
  • Finally, enter the new name and go back to settings to confirm.

As you can see, it was easy. By the way, the emoji in the iPhone name is OK; everything works fine, I checked.

The device name will be changed everywhere, including the Apple ID account. However, remember that if you do a reset, not even a full, but just network settings reset, the iPhone name will also be returned to its default.
