Cocktails: Basil Lemongrass Lemon Drop

Cocktails is a Tablecrafter series on updated versions of classic alcoholic drinks.

Created in the 1970s, the lemon drop remains as an accessible concoction for novice cocktail connoisseurs. The cocktail recently experienced a resurgence in popularity numerous appearances in popular television shows. Its fame in taphouse circles can be owed to the drink’s simplicity and how it features the lemon at its best: a balanced contrast of tart and sweet. Adding basil and lemongrass lends depth and herbal notes to the cocktail, which rounds out the fruitiness of the lemon.
