Monochrome

a poem

I am so tired
of those people
who read between
my lines
and always pretend
there is something there
besides this:

blank space.

I’ve been told
I was that girl
who tried to see
things invisible

and now everything is
black and white
shades of grey
as they should be.

thank you for that,
I need your monochrome ways.

now I see truth in you
where there was once
only lies.

let it go.

if I hide things,
it’s for a reason.
