Be a yes (wo)man.

There’s a Smith & Berg Team consensus to do more in 2018. And by doing more, we don’t solely mean killing it in the workplace (that’s inevitable, of course). We want to say yes, accomplish things both creative and challenging, see and experience all that this incredible city has to offer. Luckily, January is one of the greatest months to be a total do-er in Los Angeles. With lively events left and right, both seaside and skybound, you’ll find it simple to say yes and make do with doing (epic activities, nonetheless).

The LA Art Show

Did you know that one of the country’s greatest international art fairs takes place right here in LA? Well, if it’s artistic immersion you seek in 2018, the LA Art Show is seeking you. From January 10–14, the Los Angeles Convention Center will take on the event’s Modern and Contemporary theme, replete with paintings, sculptures, photographs, furniture, architectural objects and jewelry throughout.

Santa Monica Restaurant Week

Santa Monica Restaurant Week in a pure Smith & Berg dream come true. From January 8–14, the event will showcase Santa Monica’s award-winning, health-conscious restaurants where chef’s will make this year’s chosen ingredient — the pomegranate — the star of their dishes. So, if you’re trying to eat well this year (in both senses of the word), indulge in all that Obicà Mozzarella Bar, Lunetta, Tar & Roses, Sushi Roku and Locanda del Lago are servin’ up on a healthy silver platter.

dineL.A.

If you’re still hungry after eating your way through Santa Monica, have no fear: dineL.A. is here. From January 12–26, nearly 400 of L.A.’s top restaurants will offer specially priced pre-fixe (and utterly delicious) lunch and dinner menus. Seriously, this is two weeks of memorable eats that won’t break the bank. Complete 2018 goals.

LA Phil’s Rooftop Music Series ‘The Garden’

Starting January 5, the Los Angeles Philharmonic is soaring to the skyline of DTLA. The Garden, up on the rooftop of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, serves as host to LA Phil’s music series, where masterful performances take to the stage on select Fridays until June. Arrive by 6:30 p.m. for complimentary pre-concert libations while drinking in expansive city views.

stARTup Art Fair

If you need another reason to experience the vibrancy of Abbott Kinney (aside from the incredible eats and unmatched people watching) we highly suggest you check out the stARTup Art Fair. From January 26–28, the vivacious event at The Kinney Hotel will showcase 57 artists — selected by art world experts — who transform hotel rooms into exhibition spaces and offer their works for sale to art lovers of all levels. What better way to deck your halls in the new year than with a new artist’s work?

Uncorked L.A. Wine Festival

You know we’re big on tequila, but that certainly doesn’t mean we shy away from vino. And, when we’re looking to taste the best in the biz, we head to the annual Uncorked L.A. Wine Festival. On January 27, the Union Station will transform into a wine-o wonderland featuring over 150 wines from across the globe, gourmet food trucks, live music and more. So, if you wish to expand your palette in the new year, purchase a few tickets and get uncorked.
