Modern rustic digs. Can you dig it?

You probably feel as though everywhere you turn in L.A. there’s another Spanish home with barrel vault ceilings, flying buttresses, textured stucco, arcades (sans PAC-MAN), terracotta tiles…we could go on forever. We get it — you’re tired.

These terms are both out of reach and outdated; yet, the essence of our city resides in these architectural elements. If it weren’t for the rich, historical integrity of Los Ángeles, we likely wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing. Nevertheless, we’re here to up the ante and overhaul the obsolete. Behold, the Spanish Contemporary with a rustic, farmhouse twist. Now those are some terms you can get decoratively groovy with.

If you checked out last week’s blog post, you’ve realized by now that we have a thing for modern rustic digs. And, if you’re jumping on our farmhouse bandwagon (or tractor, rather), we found the golden needle in the haystack: 446 25th Street. Situated in the ever-coveted North of Montana enclave of Santa Monica, this new Spanish Contemporary comes brimming with a bright-and-earthy yet entirely modish feel. This is no run-of-the-mill residence.

Replete with generously-appointed living spaces and an uncontested indoor/outdoor California flow, 446 25th Street fuses stunning wooden and industrial finishes throughout its seamless floor plan. The result is an effortless coastal, farmhouse vibe that is mutually dependent on the natural splendor that lies just beyond its walls of windows and glass-sliding doors.

Upon entering, one is immediately captivated by a wealth of natural light that complements the home’s interior white aesthetic, accented by reclaimed wood and matte iron finishes. A free-flowing design entwines every living space, beginning in the foyer-adjacent living room and onward into the dining room and office — each boasting a gorgeous neutral decor.

From here, the natural draw continues into the marble-clad kitchen, accentuated by bold cabinetry, the uber impressive great room and an intimate sitting parlor, accessed via barn carriage doors. Flaunting exposed wooden beams and wall-length accordion doors, the transitional great room opens directly to the covered terrace and stone patio, complete with a full barbecue, backyard, and pool and spa. Quintessential California living, to the bone.

And you thought that was enough? We haven’t even reached where the magic happens (design-wise, we mean). The home comes teeming with five killer bedrooms, including the luxe master suite that features dramatic exposed beams, a fireplace, dual wardrobes, a spa-like bath and a secluded balcony overlooking the lush lawn and gardens. Each room is aesthetically comparable yet wholly unique, offering a range of rustic and sleek finishes to comprise a residence that emanates nothing but warmth and refinement.

And, lest we not forget the home’s epic wine cellar and billiards room — we always make room for fun, whether that involves drinking a glass of vino upon the terrace or winning a competitive game of pool. And, did we mention that you’re extremely close to the best of Brentwood and Santa Monica, too? Make a 6 minute hop, skip and jump over to the Brentwood Country Club for a round of golf on a Saturday afternoon, enjoy a baller dinner at Baltaire (or any of our Brentwood favorites, really), then return to your knockout Spanish Contemporary abode with a rustic, farmhouse twist.
