Sadly this sort of “False History” propaganda has become more prevalent in the last few decades. It happens, in most cases, because it works so well. LBJ and Nixon relied on lies to rule, beginning with Vietnam, and they both proved the old adage “You can’t fool all the people all the time, but you can fool enough people to run a large country.” -Will Durant, adding a 20th century coda to Lincoln’s quote.
