Standing Watch — The task of the vigil is a heavy burden. For every other adventuring task, a lapse into sleep is either impossible or not worthy of blame. An axeman taking a doze may face a few pranks, but a vigil caught sleeping is often punished if not outright killed. Training of vigils is possible, but almost meaningless. You can test whether a person is capable of staying awake for long hours, but that’s not useful in the field. A team of adventurers are not pigs, 8 hours of sleep a night is more than enough — and in emergencies, this amount of time can be cut in half.
