Greg Ferenstein,
This is my third and final comment to my previous responses, which readers can review here and here, concerning the political climate within Silicon Valley.
I write these words not as a partisan blind to the strengths or weaknesses of the Democratic Party versus the Republican Party…
The most ironic thing about this is that Silicon Valley proper (San Jose and the 408 area code) has been destroyed by cultural changes linked with immigration. It turns out that people from India and Mexico are not Libertarians, and do not support any of the Start-Up Elite’s “religion”.
I personally recommend this article as a very thorough examination of Silicon Valley political sentiments, preferences & attitudes.
Although I am not saying that I totally share in all the views and ideologies described in this text. No, not totally…
Read your recent post on LinkedIn, was intrigued and came here. Feels like you’re painting a picture of how “Silicon Valley” thinks on a political spectrum and pointing out how it might re-align the current two-party system. Would love to see more !
The rule of thumb means an approximation, In many other European languages thumb gets translated as inch., The term comes from carpenters measuring distances in thumbs/inches as an approximation. Nothing to do with domestic violence — there is no such law. I don’t mean to nit-pick, great article.
