私はもとより言語表現に関心を持ち続けてきました。しかし一方で、すべての言語にはローカル性という壁があり、グローバル化した世界での表現の制約となることにも悩んできました。私は言語に条件づけられない存在として「言語の外にある詩」を書きたいと考えるようになりました。まず写真に挑戦し、ついでドローイングを始め、そこで身体性や意識に関心をもちました。そして明確な対象をもたない、偶然性や意識の流れをテーマとしたペインティングを始めました。例えば、「壁面の風景画」として、非プログラム的な、素材のニュアンスの再現で画面構成する『壁にかける壁』、ダイナミックで即興的な手法の「ブラッシュワークス」などがあります。他方では、実体が存在しない、バーチャル空間向けのデータ作品にも取り組んでいます。手描きの素描や写真画像を編集ソフトに取り込み、まるで侵食・風化させてゆくかのように無作為な変更を複数回繰り返して造形にひねりを加えてゆくものです。これは「グローバルなアイデンティティの探求」という着想から生まれたもので、コモディティとして意図されたものではなく、事故のような偶然の姿に存在の価値を見出そうとするものです。
