Bill Pulsipher Joins Mets Mental Health Awareness Day
By Jay Horwitz I am hoping Bill Pulsipher gets nothing but loud cheers when he throws out the first pitch before Saturday’s 4:10 p.m. game with the Colorado Rockies. A former second round draft pick of the New York Mets in 1991, he was supposed to be a key part of the “Generation K” pitching staff. However, injuries and multiple bouts with anxiety and depression derailed his career. Pulse never stopped fighting the battle and he was one of the first professional athletes to talk openly about his inner struggles almost 20 years ago.
