Boston made 11/22 from deep the second half while Cleveland shot 2/17, then President Brad drew up three straight beautiful ATO plays and the Cs made all three shots. You know what they say — it’s a make or miss league.
Smart makes plays that crush opponents mentally. That chase down block on a sure two, that bully rebound, that charge drawn. Those plays deflate an entire team. All the more so when he hits a huge three or clinching layup because he’s so limited offensively that every single bucket feels devastating. And now the Celtics get to add another top-4 prospect to that bench!
Ws-Cavs is obv the story of the postseason, but Boston quietly mirroring the Spurs and taking the reins for the next decade is a pretty compelling B story. It feels like everyone on Boston is playing one level too high — IT would be awesome as a second Kyrie scorer, Horford the perfect third banana, Bradley an incredible glue guy. Credit to President Brad getting them there.
