A summary of my picks for March Madness — The NCAA brackets were revealed last night. In past years, I would have spent the day studying the matchups, reading up on the teams, and making what I thought was an informed decision. Those days are long gone. The brackets were revealed at 6. CBS had the bracket games open…

The dust begins to settle. — This is my bracket prior to any of today’s results. No at-large changes from the last update, but there have been some significant shifts in team order. I might make a few minor tweaks based on the re-evaluation of existing resumes, but aside from switching out any auto bids, the results of the weekend games should not impact the final field. In my opinion, it’s five teams (OKSt/Nevada/AZSt/Wisc/Pitt) fighting for two spots. Of course, those spots could be erased by bid thieves.

Who’s in the Final Four? — The NCAA Tournament brackets were released on Sunday, March 12. I collected the names of the teams and ranked them regardless of their region or seeding. The ranking combines RPI (a strength-of-schedule metric) and the net number of blowout wins minus blowout losses. I will fill out my bracket accordingly. …
