She knew she had it. She was certain. So she made the jump to only fall short. What she thought was certain, in the end, was not. ‘So if truly nothing can be seen as certain’, she thought, ‘why not move quicker and fall faster to test what certain is indeed?’ She did it to only realise that certainty is a concept judged by hindsight, and not before or during the jump itself.
