April 6 — Penny for your thoughts
It’s not uncommon to see a homeless man selling Street Sense on the corner of 7th and Penn SE. It’s not common to see someone stop and make a contribution in exchange for one.
This Gopman guy just seems like a waste of space. I see no spark of “redemption”, just the same old, self obsessed, money worshipping, ass-kissing nerd type. Is this what “success” looks like now? It’s vapid. I meet guys like him everyday, and I would rather hang out with homeless people, who generally have great stories to tell, have perspective, and have actually suffered.
The homeless are real people. They are more than victims for administrators to manage. Greg Gopman is a wonderful young man with a heart. He is working to empower them, so they can manage their own lives. God bless him. I have always resented the idea that well off people should come to homeless shelters and serve meals.
