Well put. I would add the 401k system to the ways people are farmed. It was never designed as a comprehensive retirement mechanism (got created right before Reagan), and only became considered as one when financial sociopaths realized they could market them that way. A dignified existence in old age got sold as something that people have to afford rather than something everyone deserves.
