You can’t imagine — in any way — how a person feels when they decide to kill themselves. Your intuitive leap has some merit, but the chemistry of one’s brain is altered and the things that might affect the non-suicidal don’t necessarily affect one who is. Also, no one is to blame.
It happens to me all the time.
I remember listening to Radiohead’s OK Computer and hating it, didn’t like Smashing Pumkins’ Siamese Dream, Tool’s Aenima… because I was listening to Kurt all the time back in the 90's.
Today I am aware of this bias and try to control it.It’s not always easy and sometimes I just don’t like things and move on.
