Two countries mark their Independence/National Day this month. Both Gambia (February 18) and Egypt (February 28) have some great music to offer. Sona Jobarteh is probably the most famous Gambian, especially after her profile on the show 60 Minutes. It’s well deserved recognition for such an incredible musician and singer. Here are two songs from her Fasiya release. This next offering is a collaborative effort between the Suso and Kuyateh families of Gambia along with a UK producer.
