Who are these characters? I’ve been trying to step back into a mockumentary filmmakers’ view of situations where I might otherwise be frustrated or annoyed. This has helped me put a compassionate spin on idiosyncratic, petty or downright nasty behaviours. I don’t always get the lens fitted in time, but even in retrospect I’ve been able to transform quite a few grimaces and grinding teeth into smiles and laughter.
